International Court of Justice Holds Hearing on Nicaragua v. Germany

Tania von Uslar-Gleichen, Legal Adviser and Director-General for Legal Affairs of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, leads the delegation of Germany during the public hearings on the request for the indication of provisional measures submitted by Nicaragua in the case on "Alleged Breaches of Certain International Obligations in respect of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (Nicaragua v. Germany)" on 8 and 9 April 2024, at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the seat of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Sessions were held under the presidency of Judge Nawaf Salam, President of the Court.

The Court's role is to settle, in accordance with international law, legal disputes submitted to it by States and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized UN organs and agencies.
