Security Council Meets on International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals
Hyunwoo Cho, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of June, chairs the Security Council meeting on the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.
The Security Council adopted Resolution 2740 (2024) on the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. The resolution appoints Mr. Serge Brammertz as Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals with effect from 1 July 2024 until 30 June 2026. The resolution was adopted with 14 votes in favour, none against and 1 abstention (Russian Federation).
