General Assembly Meets on Organization of Work and Strengthening of UN System

The General Assembly votes on an amendment on the "Establishment of the list of speakers for the Summit of the Future", put forth by the Russian Federation, to a draft resolution under the theme, strengthening of the United Nations system, during the 98th plenary meeting of the General Assembly. The amendment was not adopted, having failed to obtain enough votes in favour.

The meeting dealt with several issues on the agenda, such as: integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic, social and related fields; organization of work; follow-up to the second United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries; and strengthening of the United Nations system.
