General Assembly Meets on Strengthening of United Nations System

The General Assembly votes on an amendment on "Participation of non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions and the private sector in the high-level Summit of the Future" under the issue Strengthening of the United Nations system. The Amendment was adopted, by a recorded vote of 62 in favour to 16 against, with 53 abstentions.

The Assembly also adopted, without a vote, the draft decision, as amended, on "Participation of non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions and the private sector in the high-level Summit of the Future", by which the Assembly decided to approve the participation of 44 such entities, as listed in an annex to that decision, in the high-level Summit of the Future.
