UNMIL Peacekeepers Prepare for Troop Withdrawal

The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) is withdrawing its military presence from the country on 8 February, as part of the termination of its mandate scheduled for 30 March, 2018. UNMIL was established in September 2003 to monitor a ceasefire agreement in Liberia, following the conclusion of the Second Liberian Civil War.
Members of the Chinese Formed Police Unit (FPU) deployed with UNMIL perform an emergency exercise in their base in Monrovia.
