Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Visits Lebanon

Jean-Pierre Lacroix (left at end of table) Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, attends a meeting with Aroldo Lázaro Sáenz (right at end of table), Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and ambassadors of UNIFIL's troop-contributing countries and Permanent Members of the UN Security Council.

During his visit in Lebanon Mr. Lacroix is meeting with senior Lebanese officials, the diplomatic corps and representatives of troop-contributing countries to the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL). In all his meetings, Mr. Lacroix reiterated calls for a cessation of hostilities and underscored that the UN supports diplomatic efforts towards the full implementation of Security Council resolution 1701.
