Security Council Adopts Resolution Authorizing AUSSOM

Security Council adopts Resolution 2767 (2024) authorizing the African Union to deploy a new peace support mission in Somalia, the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), for an initial period of 12 months, starting on 1 January 2025.

The resolution was adopted by 14 votes in favour and one abstention (United States). A view of Council members voting in favour of the resolution.
