Security Council Meets on Situation Concerning Democratic Republic of Congo
Ernest Rwamucyo, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Rwanda to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In the last 48 hours, two peacekeepers serving with United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) from South Africa and one peacekeeper from Uruguay were killed while implementing the mandate entrusted upon them by the Security Council. Eleven peacekeepers sustained injuries and are being treated in the UN hospital in Goma.
