General Assembly Holds 58th Plenary Meeting

The General Assembly votes on a draft resolution titled "International Day of Peaceful Coexistence" during the 58th plenary meeting of the General Assembly.

The representative of the United States again said that his delegation will vote no, expressing concern that the resolution "advances a programme of soft global governance that is inconsistent with US sovereignty".

The Assembly adopted the resolution by a recorded vote of 162 in favour to 3 against (Argentina, Israel, United States), with 2 abstentions (Paraguay, Peru).
