General Assembly Holds 58th Plenary Meeting

Vassily Nebenzia, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, introduces a draft resolution titled "Eightieth anniversary of the end of the Second World War" during the 58th plenary meeting of the General Assembly.

The Assembly also adopted, without a vote, the text titled "Eightieth anniversary of the end of the Second World War" (document A/79/L.51), which requested the holding of a special meeting of the Assembly to commemorate all victims of the Second World War in the second week of May in 2025 and every five years thereafter.
