Opening of 24th Session of Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

Viliami Vaʼinga Tōnē, Vice-President of the seventy-ninth session of the United Nations General Assembly and Permanent Representative of Tonga to the United Nations, addresses the opening of the 24th Session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (21 April – 2 May). The theme of the 24th Session is "Implementing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples within United Nations Member States and the United Nations system, including identifying good practices and addressing challenges".
