Security Council Meets on Situation in Middle East, Including Palestinian Question
Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.
The Council voted on a draft resolution demanding an immediate unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza respected by all parties, it further demanded the immediate unconditional release of all hostages, as well as the lifting of all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The resolution received 14 votes in favour and one vote against (United States). The resolution was not adopted due to the veto by a permanent member.
