2025 United Nations Population Award Ceremony

Varsha Deshpande, women's rights activist from India and founder of the Dalit Mahila Vikas Mandal, won the 2025 United Nations Population Award in the individual category. In the institutional category, the 2025 award was conferred on International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP). The IUSSP, founded in 1927, has played a pivotal role in advancing population science and policy.
Each year, the Committee for the United Nations Population Award honours an individual and/or institution in recognition of outstanding contributions to population and reproductive health questions and to their solutions.
