Security Council Meets on Peace and Security in Africa
Asim Iftikhar Ahmad (left), Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of July, chairs the meeting on peace and security in Africa.
The Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2789 (2025) on 2745 Sanctions regime related to armed groups operating in the CAR constituting a threat to international peace and security in the region.
The resolution extends, until 31 July 2026, the measures as set out or extended in paragraphs 2 and 4 of resolution 2745 (2024), and extends, until 31 August 2026, the mandate of the Panel of Experts as set forth in paragraph 6 of resolution
2745 (2024).
