Security Council Holds its 10000th Meeting
Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, addresses the 10000th meeting of the Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.
The Council voted on a draft resolution demanding an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the immediate release of all hostages, it further demanded the lifting of Israeli restrictions on aid, calling on the occupying power to ensure safe and unhindered distribution to all in need. The draft resolution received 14 votes in favour and 1 against (United States). The resolution was not adopted due to the veto by the United States.
