Security Council Adopts Resolution on Haiti, Authorizes Gang Suppression Force

Security Council adopted Resolution 2793 (2025) on Haiti. The Resolution authorizes the transition of a Kenyan-led support mission for Haiti into a new Gang Suppression Force, for an initial period of 12 months. The resolution also calls for the UN to establish a support office in Haiti. The resolution was adopted with 12 votes in favour, none against and 3 abstentions (China, Pakistan and Russia).
