General Assembly Meets on Strengthening of Coordination of Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Assistance

Dmitry S. Chumakov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, introduces three draft amendments on "Safety and security of humanitarian personnel and protection of United Nations personnel" and "Strengthening of the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance of the United Nations" during the 59th plenary meeting of the General Assembly. The Assembly debated a number of issues on the agenda, among them strengthening of the coordination of humanitarian and disaster relief assistance of the United Nations, including special economic assistance and strengthening of the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance of the United Nations.
