Security Council Adopts Resolution on Iran and Gulf States

Amir Saeid Iravani, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East.

The Council adopted Resolution 2817 (2026) condemning in the strongest terms the attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territories of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan and determines that such acts constitute a breach of international law and a serious threat to international peace and security, during the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East. The Resolution was adopted by 13 votes in favour; 0 against; and 2 abstentions (China, Russian Federation).
