Security Council Adopts Resolution on Iran and Gulf States
Security Council adopts Resolution 2817 (2026) condemning in the strongest terms the attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territories of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan and determines that such acts constitute a breach of international law and a serious threat to international peace and security, during the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East. The Resolution was adopted by 13 votes in favour; 0 against; and 2 abstentions (China, Russian Federation).
