Lok Bahadur Thapa (right), outgoing President of the Economic and Social Council and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, hands the gavel to Amar Bendjama, elected President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for 2026 - 2027 and Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, during the 1st Economic and Social Council plenary meeting of the session.
