LGBT Core Group at UN Sponsors Rainbow Crosswalk

The LGBT Core Group (a cross regional group at the United Nations committed to advancing the rights of lesbians, gays, bi-sexual and transgender persons) is cooperating with the City of New York to sponsor a rainbow crosswalk leading to the United Nations complex on 46th street during the United Nations General Assembly high-level week. The rainbow crosswalk is dubbed the #path2equality as a symbol of the struggle to achieve equal rights for LGBT individuals.
Representatives of the Core Group, including Samantha Power (centre), United States Permanent Representative to the UN; and Albert Koenders (fourth from right), Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, assemble at the crosswalk for a photo opportunity.
