Secretary-General of the United Nations Returns to Headquarters from Iran-Iraq Peace Mission

Javier Perez de Cuellar, Secretary-General of the United Nations, is surrounded by members of the press upon arrival at United Nations after his peace mission to Iran and Iraq, at the request of the Security Council to persuade both States to accept the UN call for a ceasefire. No such agreement was achieved, though a ceasefire did prevail during his visit.
