Secretary-General Visits Galapagos Islands

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited the Galapagos Islands on 18 October, to observe measures implemented by the Government of Ecuador to ensure the environmental protection and sustainable development of the site, the first to be added to the World Heritage List in 1978.
