The Expanded Nutrition Programme in Orissa (India)
"In 1959, the Planning and Cooperation Department together with the Departments of Health, Agriculture and Education set up a programme to improve the diet of the villages in Orissa, India. The Government enlisted the aid of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for what was called ""The Expanded Nutrition Program"" which has since become a model for what can be done in the field.
