Security Council Briefed on Humanitarian Crises in Africa, Yemen

The Security Council was briefed by Stephen O'Brien, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, on the risk of starvation and famine facing twenty million people in four countries: Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and north-eastern Nigeria.
Matthew Rycroft, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the UN and President of the Security Council for March, chairs the meeting.
