Security Council Tasks UN Verification Mission to Monitor New Ceasefire in Colombia

The Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 2381 (2017), welcoming the temporary, bilateral, national ceasefire announced on 4 September 2017 between the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN). The resolution mandates the UN Verification Mission in Colombia to participate in and coordinate the work of the monitoring and verification mechanism (MVM) for the ceasefire.
