Two-nation Team to Prepare Documentary Programmes on Asian Highway Project

A joint Japanese-Australian team set out from the Turkey-Iran border this month to make television and radio documentaries on a 5,000 mile section of the Asian Highway. Accompanying the team which is made up of representatives of the Australian Broadcasting Commission and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation is an Information Officer from ECAFE. The Highway is a major road project aimed at opening Asia to international motor traffic from Turkey to Saigon and Singapore and into Indonesia. The Five-man team will spend several weeks in Iran, Afghanistan, West Pakistan, India and East Pakistan. It will film five 30-minute television programmes and prepare several radio programmes on the Highway for distribution in Australia and Japan and throughout the world.
