Secretary-General Visits Oromia Region, Ethiopia

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (centre) addresses the media during his visit to Ziway Dugda woreda, Oromia Region, an area affected by drought in Ethiopia. The trip was organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the World Food Programme (WFP). He was accompanied by Demeke Mekonen, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ertharin Cousin, WFP Executive Director, and Kyung-wha Kang, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator.
