Special Event Marking International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The UN held a special event under the theme, "United Action Towards Sustainable Development for All Through Sport", on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (6 April).
Secretary-Genreal Ban Ki-moon (left) with Thomas Bach (centre ), President of the International Olympics Committee (IOC); and Kim Yoon-suk, Secretary-General of the 2015 Gwangju Universiade Organizing Committee, during the event. The 2015 Summer Universiade of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) will take place in Gwangju, Republic of Korea, in July.
