Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, Paraguay

A view of the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant on the border of Paraguay and Brazil, on the day of a visit by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The plant is a source renewable clean energy for the two countries, providing around 17% of the energy consumed in Brazil and 75% of the energy consumed in Paraguay.
