General Assembly Holds High-level Event on Post- 2015 Development Agenda

John W. Ashe, President of the sixty-eighth session of the General Assembly, provides opening remarks at today's High-level Stocktaking Event on the Post-2015 Development Agenda: Contributions to the Secretary-General's Synthesis Report. In his statement, Mr. Ashe suggested that Member States and other stakeholders need to be ""bold and pragmatic in their thinking about what could constitute a truly participatory, inclusive, people-centred post-2015 development agenda that has the eradication of extreme poverty as its overarching objective.""
