Thomas Gass (left), Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), and John Wilmoth, Director of the Population Division at DESA, speak to the press on population issues to be considered at a UN General Assembly Special Session, to be held on 22 September, 2014. The Special Session will be on the follow-up to the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) beyond 2014.
