Assembly Adopts Resolution on UN, Council of Europe Cooperation

The General Assembly adopted a resolution reiterating its call for the reinforcement of cooperation between the United Nations and the Council of Europe regarding the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, the promotion of democracy and the rule of law and good governance. In a different segment of the meeting, the Assembly also heard from delegations on the observance of the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family (1994).
