Assembly Considers Resolution on Death of Dag Hammarskjöld

Álvaro José Costa de Mendonça e Moura (left), Permanent Representative of Portugal to the UN and Vice-President of the General Assembly, chairs today's Assembly meeting, which included agenda items on the Culture of Peace, the Report of the Credentials Committee and a draft resolution on the investigation into the conditions resulting in the death of Dag Hammarskjöld and other members of his party. Also seated at the dais is Ion Botnaru, Director of the General Assembly and Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Affairs Division.
