Ebola Survivors Welcome Secretary-General in Sierra Leone
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is on a visit to Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia and Mali, four countries most affected by the Ebola virus disease outbreak in West Africa, as well as to Ghana, where the headquarters of the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) is located. Mr. Ban is touring the countries to see the Ebola response for himself, show his solidarity with those affected and to urge even greater global action. He is accompanied on the trip by Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO); David Nabarro, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General on Ebola; and Anthony Banbury, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMEER.
