Secretary-General Visits Ebola-affected Countries in West Africa

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is on a visit to Guinea, Liberia, Mali and Sierra Leone, the four countries most affected by the Ebola outbreak, as well as Ghana, where the headquarters the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) is located. Mr. Ban is touring the countries to see the Ebola response for himself, show his solidarity with those affected and to urge even greater global action. He is accompanied on the trip by Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO); David Nabarro, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General on Ebola; and Anthony Banbury, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMEER.
