MONUSCO Assists Volcanologists at Mount Nyamulagira Crater

Dario Tedesco, a volcanologist from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Second University of Naples in Italy, walks inside the crater at Mount Nyamulagira, during an assessment mission of the volcano, which sits in the Virunga Mountains northeast of Sake, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Nyamulagira is one of the most active volcanoes in the region and erupts once every two years.
