Palestinian Rights Committee Opens, Launches International Year of Solidarity

Riyad H. Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the UN, reads a message from the President of Palestine at the first meeting of the Committee on the Exercise for the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People for the 2014 session, in which he expressed hope that the International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (launched today) would lead to the end of Israel's 47-year occupation of Palestinian lands and to the creation of an independent Palestinian State with full United Nations membership.
