Unveiling of the Umoja Clock Marks 100 Days to the Project's Launch

Umoja, meaning "unity" in Swahili, will be the United Nations' new central administrative system that provides a single data repository with reliable, real-time information. Designed to facilitate and streamline information between all business functions within the Organization, Umoja will replace the previous multiple, fragmented systems and be the central administrative solution of the entire United Nations Secretariat by 2016. ""It [Umoja] is far more than an Information Technology project," remarks the Secretary-General, "it is an organizational transformation that will enable high-quality and cost-effective service delivery around the world.""
