AMISOM Force Commander Visits Troops in Beledweyne, Somalia

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) Force Commander Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti (centre left) arrives in Beledweyne, Hiraan Region, approximately 330 km northwest of the capital, Mogadishu. Gutti is visiting the Djiboutian Contingent of AMISOM for the first time since their recent main deployment, which will bring their number to their mandated 1,000 troops. AMISOM continues to secure areas across Somalia from the Al-Qaeda-affiliated extremist group Al Shabaab and support the Somali Federal Government in building peace and security throughout the country.
