Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, UNMIL and UNOCI Hold Quadripartite Meeting in Abidjan

Bert Koenders (left), Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the UN Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) speaks at a quadripartite meeting with the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), UNOCI and representatives from the Governments of Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. The meeting is being held to address the fragile situation along the border in the light of recent attacks, including reinforcement of their presence on both sides of the border, intensified air and foot patrols and activities to protect civilians, while taking steps to strengthen relations between their respective security forces and the population.
