UNAMID Doctor Assists Local Population in North Darfur

A member of the Egyptian contingent of the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID), Dr. Mohamed Ismad Anwar, examines a young patient at the contingent's team site in Um Kadada, North Darfur. Though the team site clinic is intended for the 860 Egyptian troops serving UNAMID, medical personnel always assist the local population if needed.
Since 2010 the Um Kadada area has largely been free of clashes and camps for people displaced by unrest.
