UNAMID Head Hears Concerns of Displaced

A woman living in Kassab Camp for Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Kutum, North Darfur, expresses her sorrow over the increase in rapes in the area. During a visit from Ibrahim Gambari, the Joint Special Representative for the African Union-UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID), she asked him to assure the protection of women in the camp. More than 25,000 people live at Kassab, and UNAMID troops organize patrols every day to monitor the area.
