Darfuris Receive Efficient Water Rollers
A man uses an orange Water Roller, a device for easily and efficiently carrying water, in his house in the Abu Shouk Camp for internally displaced people. With its large drum capacity (usually 75 litres), the roller frees women and children from having to spend a large portion of every day dedicated to collecting water for their households. The African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) has distributed some 3,000 such rollers across Darfur.
