Global Plan to Eliminate New HIV Infections among Children

Babalwa Mbono, an HIV-positive mother of three from South Africa, speaks on behalf of women living with HIV at the launch of a global plan at the United Nations. The plan, known as "Countdown to Zero", seeks to eliminate new HIV infections among children and keep their mothers alive, in an effort to save millions of lives across the developing world. Ms. Mbono is a spokesperson for mothers2mothers, a South African NGO that helps to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
