All Darfur Stakeholders Conference Opens in Doha

The opening of the All Darfur Stakeholders Conference, chaired by Djibril Yipènè Bassolé, African Union-UN Joint Chief Mediator, and Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. The gathering brings together high-ranking representatives of the Government of Sudan, Darfur movements, civil society delegates, representatives of internally displaced persons (IDPs), Sudanese political party leaders and elected members of state legislatures and the national parliament from Darfur. Among the key issues discussed will be women's rights and their participation in the peace process.
