UNSG Panel on Referenda Visits Polling Centres in South Sudan

António Monteiro (centre), former Foreign Minister of Portugal and Member of the UN Secretary-General's Panel on the Referenda in Sudan, and Raj Pokharel (right, back to camera), Chief Election Commissioner of Nepal and Member of the Panel, speak with the head of a polling centre in North Bari, near Juba, capital of South Sudan, on the first day of voting in the South's referendum on independence. The Panel visited a number of polling centres in and around Juba to monitor and discuss voting processes.
