Afghan President Swears in Lower House Parliamentarians

Hamid Karzai (standing right), President Afghanistan, swears parliamentarians into his country's Lower House (Wolesi Jirga or "House of the People") at an inauguration ceremony in Kabul, the second parliamentary inauguration for Afghanistan since 2001. Of the 249 representatives elected on 18 September 2010, 60 are women.
