General Assembly Meets on Zero-Tolerance Policy on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
The General Assembly today adopted a draft resolution calling for the inclusion of an item entitled "Sexual exploitation and abuse: implementing a zero-tolerance policy" in the provisional agenda of the seventy-fourth session. The resolution also requests that the Secretary-General submit annual reports on ""special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, including on progress made in implementing a zero-tolerance policy within the United Nations system"".
Mohamed Fathi Ahmed Edrees, Permanent Representative of Egypt to the UN, introduces the draft resolution, which was co-sponsored by Bangladesh, Benin, Central African Republic, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Indonesia, Morocco, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
