Candidate in Ivorian Presidential Elections Casts Ballot

Henri Konan Bédié, former President of Côte d'Ivoire and candidate for the Parti Démocratique de Côte d'Ivoire (PDCI), casts his ballot in Côte d'Ivoire's long-awaited presidential elections at a polling station at Sainte-Marie Secondary School in Abidjan. The United Nations mission in that country (UNOCI) has increased its forces by 500 troops to provide continued technical, logistical and security support during the electoral period.
